Some of the peñas participating in Seville are: El Chozas, Flamenca Cantes Al Aire, Torres Macarena, Niño Ricardo, El Turruñuelo, Cerro del Águila, and Pies Plomos.

Cines de Verano Cine de verano
Locations: Patio de la Diputación; Universidad de Sevilla
Dates: 30 Jun - 18 Sep (22:30 start time)

A cheap way to enjoy a movie (3€), with recent releases in Patio de la Diputación and a mix at the University, with themes cased on actors and directors such as Paul Newman or Steven Soderbergh. All in an outdoor setting complete with a bar, popcorn, hot dogs, sandwiches, tapas, beer and drinks. Cines de verano, what amounts to an outdoor screening, are a part of summer in Seville. I really love these and the ability to get up and stretch your legs without missing any of the action. It's like a drive-in without the cars.

Bienal Flamenco 2010XV Bienal Flamenco
Location: Various locations in the city

Bringing together the best musicians and dancers the XVI Bienal de Flamenco began in 1980 and has been going strong for 30 years. Of course as it's a bi-annual event this is the fifteenth installment which will last for about a month and include a multitude of venues throughout the city. This is one of the most popular flamenco events in the world, and aside from the official program there are many flamenco shows and events scheduled to coincide with the Bienal. Feria de las NacionesFeria de las Naciones Sevilla
Location: Prado de San Sebastian
Dates: 16 Sep - 1 Nov

After two years in the Parque Maria Luisa, the Festival returns to Prado. This time around the Festival de las Naciones in Sevilla will be in it's 15th year? I've lost track. The Festival runs for about a month and a half, from the mid-September to early November. You can sample different foods at the various stands. Almost all include seating and table service, if you can get a table. Also part of the Festival are musical and dance performances as well as plenty of small shops where you can "shop by country". More information on my page dedicated to the festival.

Feria de San Miguel
Feria de San Miguel
Location: Feria grounds / Plaza de Toros
Dates: 24 - 26 Sep

For many years - about 30, actually - this fair was put on hold in Seville, until it's revival in 2001. Now going on 10 years strong, the Feria de San Miguel in Seville is an attraction which has a strong draw both inside and outside of Spain. Similar to the Feria de Abril, at least casetas are put up in the fair grounds - but much smaller. This is also one of the last chances you'll get to see a bullfight this season, and after a long summer break tickets can be difficult to find. If you miss out then October 12th is generally the last chance to see a bullfight.

Now going on 8 years strong, the Feria de San Miguel in Seville is an attraction which has a strong draw both inside and outside of Spain. And the main reason so many come to Seville for this weekend: this is one of the last chances you'll get to see a bullfight this season, and after a long summer break tickets can be difficult to find.
