to Toros en Seville
A bullfight, or corrida de toros, is something enjoyed or loathed by
visitors and Spaniards alike. I won't try to guess your opinion. Think of it what you may, bullfighting is a tradition
in Sevilla and the Plaza de Toros de la Maestranza is perhaps the best venues
in all of Spain to watch the event. The season begins on the last day of Semana
Santa (8 April) and marches full steam through Feria at the end of the month. In May there is something scheduled most weekends and then the schedule slows down with sporadic events up until 12 October.
Festival de las Naciones
Location: Prado de San Sebastian
Dates: 20 Sep - 4 Nov
The Festival de las Naciones takes place in the Prado de San Sebastian over about six weeks. This time around the Festival de las Naciones in Sevilla will be in it's
15th year? I honestly don't remember. The Festival runs for over a month, from the end of September to early November. You
can sample different foods at the various stands. Almost all include seating
and table service, if you can get a table. Also part of the Festival are musical
and dance performances as well as plenty of small shops where you can "shop
by country". More information on my page
dedicated to the festival.
Halloween
in Isla Magica "Halloween Magica"
Location: Isla Magica (Cartuja)
Dates: 27, 28, 31 October, 1, 2, 3 November
web:Halloween in Isla Magica
The park is planning several activities, including a transformation of the grounds to celebrate Halloween. Visitors are encouraged to dress up, although they will have face paintings for those who don't. Activities in the past included a 4D movie (what is that?), plus your typical haunted house. And of course there are the normal rides and attractions to give you a thrill during your visit and plenty of people dressed up as something more or less scary.
Feria
Regional de Jamón y Cerdo Ibérico
Location: Aracena (hour and a half from Sevilla)
Dates: 19-21 October
Get
down and dirty with the beloved and tasty pig which is served up throughout
Spain. I know that sounds terrible, but during the festival you can learn everything
there is to know about raising these little guys and producing the cured meats
that come from them. Likely to be a vegetarians nightmare, but a culinary aficionados'
dream. And of course most interesting to the major producers in the area.

Bringing together the best musicians and dancers the XV

the fifteenth installment which will last for about 30
days and include a multitude of venues throughout the city. This is one of the most popular flamenco events in the world, and aside from the offical program there are many flamenco shows and events scheduled

Party in Sala Q

Dates: 31 October
While the holiday in Spain falls on November 1st, and is really All Saints day

a good profit for the weeks before. Sala Q will be hosting a big Halloween bash
(10 Euro cover, includes free drink) with a host of DJ's, a costume contest,
free sangria and more.

VI Feria del Marisco Gallego
Location: Corner of Juan Antonio Cavestany (near train station)
Dates: 1 - 12 Oct
Some of Spain's best shellfish comes from the region of Galicia. While they call it a feria (fair) this is more like a large bar and restaurant where you can sample not only great shellfish, but also typical food from Galicia such as empanadas. (I have very fond memories of my first real empanada de atún in small town in Galicia). There will also be a shop where you can buy foods from Galicia to take home.
