Festival de las Naciones
Location: Parque Maria Luisa - Plaza de America
Dates: 30 Sep - 1 Nov
After a year on the other side of the river, the Festival returns to Parque Maria Luisa. This time around the Festival de las Naciones in Sevilla will be in it's 12th year. The Festival runs for over a month, from the beginning of October to early November. You can sample different foods at the various stands. Almost all include seating and table service, if you can get a table. Also part of the Festival are musical and dance performances as well as plenty of small shops where you can "shop by country". XVI Carrera Popular Casco Antiguo
Location: Paseo Catalina de Ribera (Plaza Central)
Dates: 22 October, 9:30
Get your running shoes on for Sunday, October 22rd for a race of varying lengths through the old city center. Everyone from the younger (1 km race) to the (relatively) older (8 km race) can join in, starting from Avda. Catalina de Ribera. Deadline to sign up, no matter what your age, is October 18th. On the page below you will instructions to sign up (in Spanish).

Located in the Palenque this time around the Festival de las Naciones in Sevilla will be in it's 11th year. The Festival runs for over a month, from the beginning of October to early November. You can sample different foods at the various stands. Almost all include seating and table service, if you can get a table. Also part of the Festival are musical and dance performances as well as plenty of small shops where you can "shop by country". More information on my page dedicated to the festival.

 

Feria Regional de Jamón y Cerdo Ibérico
Location: Aracena (hour and a half from Sevilla)
Dates: 20 - 23 October
Get down and dirty with the beloved and tasty pig which is served up throughout Spain. I know that sounds terrible, but during the festival you can learn everything there is to know about raising these little guys and producing the cured meats that come from them. Likely to be a vegetarians nightmare, but a culinary aficionados' dream. And of course most interesting to the major producers in the area.

Location: Several locations in Seville

Perhaps the largest event in the world dedicated to flamenco,
The BIenal Flamenco comes to Seville every two years, and attracts visitors from across the globe. The majority of the performances take place in the following venues: Teatro Lope de Vega, Teatro Alameda, Teatro Central, Teatro de la Maestranza, and Hotel Triana. If you plan on visiting Seville between the dates of 13 Sep - 15 Oct, book your accommodation ahead of time!
