Most of these contain descriptions but those I have not
been to currently do not have much information. Each week
I'll be adding more descriptions as I try a new one. For
Italian/Pizza the options are plentiful and I'm not covering
close to all of them. When it comes to finding a good steak
it's often best to head to an Argentinean restaurant where
they specialize in grilled beef. Many good vegetarian dishes
can be found in restaurants which are not strictly vegetarian.
In fact some of the best vegetarian food in Seville comes
from these types of restaurants.

Great Italian food, and don't believe the other Seville
web sites or guide books which say 48€ for two. You
can skip that 20€ bottle of wine and eat plenty for
around 25€. Eat at the Meson del Moro location for
the best atmosphere - set in what was formerly a 12th century
Arab bath. While they offer pizza I'd recommend eating any
of the other dishes first. And the salad with roquefort,
endive and fresh corn is wonderful. There are several other
locations, which all have a unique atmosphere. Most are
in renovated 18th or 19th century houses and include period
decoration. I recently strolled by the c/Baños location
and it has a nice cozy feel. It's just off a side street
from Plaza de la Gavidia in the center. A little secret
- if you want the same menu but for a better price check
out Restaurante Cereceto on c/Pérez Galdós.
They are a San Marco franchise which offers more or less
the same food but in a more casual atmosphere.

Recently opened and with two floors it has an authentic
Italian look and feel. Real Italians working in the kitchen
and bar help the atmosphere as well. A small area by the
bar, as well as back and upstairs dining rooms give you
plenty of places to sit. Tapas, typical Italian cuisine
and pizzas are offered. The food is great, but I must say
from my first sampling I wouldn't recommend the bruschetta.
Less of a place for tapas and more for a pizza from their
wood fired oven or an authentic full Italian meal.

Great food in what looks like a store. Well, at least we
thought it was a store when we first passed by. Tucked away
on a side street near Plaza Nueva, bright colors and modern
decoration set this apart from many of the Italian restaurants
in Sevilla. The restaurant is run by a family from central
Italy and they have incredible tiramisu. But it's not all
dessert: the normal offerings of lasagna, pasta and of course
veal scallopini are also delicious. Fine cuisine deserves
a fine price, so you'll find dinners to be anywhere from
12-18€ per person.

Aside from pizzas you'll find lasagna, tortellini, cannelloni,

Offering typical Italian dishes such as pizza, lasagna,
plenty of pasta dishes and a few meat and chicken plates.
What used to look like the brother of Mama Mia has gone
upscale with a recent renovation. Modern look, a little
of a pijo crowd and what looks like a better, yet more expensive
menu. Why there is a wall sized picture of Edward Norton
and Ralph Fiennes on the wall I may never know, unless they
stopped by before the renovation. A lot of seating means
you shouldn't have a problem finding a table.

pizza place, but they have changed the inside a little and
it's less of a pizza joint and more a restaurant. Unfortunately Let's Go "discovered" them a few years
ago so it could be crowded, but it is still worth a trip.
The best thing is the pizza but they offer a full range
of other typical and not so typical Italian dishes. My favorites

Telepizza |

I should be ashamed to include Telepizza in this category,
but they do serve pizza! About the only reason to eat Telepizza
is if you want home delivery. The pizza isn't that bad,
but in comparison to just about any other option it comes
out on the bottom of the list. They do deliver just about
anywhere and offer salads and other sandwiches along with
pizza. You'll see these guys zipping around town on motos just about every night.

While Foster's is a chain throughout Spain but, they are one of the most authentic American restaurants in Sevilla.
Keeping this in perspective, Foster's is like Applebee's or Ruby Tuesdays. From the menu look and booth seating to the salt and pepper
shakers on the table, waiters and food you feel like you're
back in the states (A lot of Americans are oftein eating here as well). They have giant hamburgers and were the first in Sevilla to have free refills on Coke! Famous
for their onion rings they also offer other appetizers such
as fried cheese, quesadillas, bacon cheese fries, nachos
and chicken wings. Fajitas, burritos and chili con carne
are part of the Mexican offerings, while 4 or 5 "celebrity"
salads are also on the menu, although none have names of
celebrities. Your choice of 8 burgers in three sizes, plus
baby back ribs, chicken sandwiches, cole slaw and more.
Dessert is in many forms, like brownies, cheesecake, apple
pie and of course milk shakes. Foster's also delivers!

If Foster's is Applebee's or Ruby Tuesdays, then Peggy Sue's Diner is...a little different. I would call it faux diner only as you know it can't be real because your in Spain. But Peggy Sue's has done a good job of creating the atmosphere of a diner with a menu that works as well. We've only tried the hamburgers and desserts, but you can find chicken and club sandwiches, pizza, salads, Onion rings, cheese fries and more. Most of the pizzas and hamburgers are named for famous folks such as Elvis or Aretha Franklin, though I doubt the recipes have anything to do with their personal tastes. Peggy Sue also delivers. They forgot our dessert the one time we ordered but showed up 20 minutes later with it as well as a free one - nice touch!

American food - specialties are pizza and hamburgers - in
a setting fit for a Beatle. Decoration and music takes you
back to the most successful times of the "legendary"

few spanish tapas are other choices. Kind of reminds me
of Sloppy Joe's if you take away the decoration.

My main complaint is that there's no location in the center!
They offer pizza, burgers, fries, chicken wings and salads:
American style with a Spanish touch. They also offer "sandwishes",
which I believe is just a typo in their ad. Any of the burgers
are great except Viejo Sloppy Joe's. I'm not sure
what's in this other than hamburger, but it's a mushy mass
of meat with some kind of sauce and it just ain't a burger!
The rest are good. Choose from 20 some pizzas, Spanish and
Mexican versions included. Some pizzas are missing tomato
sauce, or they use little. But I don't know why I'm complaining
because the food is really good! Chef salad with blue cheese
dressing is pretty darn close to what you'd get back home.
Home delivery is quick - look for the guys on the motos with the Sloppy Joe's box on the back. During the works for the metro they stopped delivering to many locations in the center and who knows when they'll start again!

Get your fill of American atmosphere the minute you walk
in the door, all within sight of the Giralda. Walls
are covered with college banners, assorted stuff from Texas
and military memorabilia. Owned by a director of a study
abroad program in Sevilla it's more of a place for beer,
sports and American/Tex-Mex bar food. Fajitas, burritos
and burgers are done well. Budweiser on tap, popcorn, onion
rings and NFL games on Sunday make you feel at home. Also
the only home of the NCAA Basketball Championship game in
Sevilla - 1 day tape delay but it's worth it.

We went down to calle Salado, which has several international
restaurants in a row, plus a few just a block or two away.
Azteca is new and looks like a chain restaurant but from
all I can tell it isn’t. The portions are not large
but the food definitely tasty with some really good tacos
(warning – 1 taco costs about 3,80 Euros). Still,
we made it out after 4 beers and 5 plates for under 30 Euros.
The stuffed jalapeno are spicy and each one with a different
filling (beans, cheese, chicken and tuna). The chimichangas
look more like large soft tacos, the quesadillas still aren’t
the kind I get back home (served in a cazuela,
not between two tortillas) but the flavor is authentic.
Plus they serve about 15 kinds of tequila. Well ignore the
fact they don’t serve Cruzcampo…

Being in a mall and looking at the menu you get the idea
of what this place is all about - Taco Bell, but a bit better.
The food is actually pretty good but you feel "chain
restaurant" oozing from the decoration and location.
Still, if you're in one of the mall's and looking for something
different it's a good choice. If you're thinking Mexican
and wondering where to go I'd put this way down on my list.

rice and beans), Mexican tapas and sandwiches, a large nachos
plate, chile con carne, salads, and more. When the weather

We tracked this place down after watching My Big, Fat Greek

is Greek, a very nice fellow, and also waited on us. He
made some great recommendations. The plates are small but
priced accordingly. While much of what we ate now escapes
me I know we had a lamb stew and three other plates which
were all very good. It has a nice atmosphere - about 10

The tabla de patatas comes with three amazing sauces.

a locutorio, where you can make phone calls. Nice
folks at the market. As for the food it's not bad, but like
I said above about the Chinese food here...

A family favorite - my sister and
brother-in-law love this place. I've been once and we had
a very good meal of beef in oyster sauce and some good fried
rice. Egg rolls, like most places in Sevilla, are much bigger
than back home. Service was good, price as well, and atmosphere
was what you would expect.

One of Seville's Thai only restaurants is just across the
avenue from the Jardines Murillo and close to the Prado
de San Sebastian bus station. The atmosphere is certainly
nice, with enough plants (and humidity) to make you feel
as if you were in a rain forest. A sampling of the dishes:
wonderful salads, decent noodles and some spring rolls which
lacked any taste whatsoever. Many of the dishes can be shared
between 2 people, which makes the high prices a little less
than expected. Overall we enjoyed it, but note it's not
a place for a cheap meal.

Get your authentic sushi boat here! Plenty of specialties
with authentic Vietnamese, Thai and Cantonese food aside
from the Japanese cuisine. A little bit of everything, and
quite tasty from the Thai experience I had. Ample seating,
well lit and very nice staff.

The Whopper, hamburgers, fries and onion rings. As with
McDonald's it's all here and it all tastes the same, although
to me the Whopper seems smaller. Ok, I am convinced the
Whopper is smaller. In February they opened their
newest location in La Campana next door to McDonald's.

Fried Chicken

Reyes Católicos (Arenal).

Just opened in October of 2003 it's
the newest American fast food restaurant to come to Sevilla.
The menu is pretty much the same as it is in the States
- chicken meals, buckets of chicken and side dishes. Somehow
15 Euros for an 8-piece bucket of chicken seems very expensive.
Perhaps they're paying for the chicken's airfare to Spain?
They do offer two "burgers", which are really
chicken sandwiches. Well located and with a good amount
of outdoor seating when it's warm.

Big Mac, quarter-pounder with cheese, fries...it's all here
except breakfast. Amazingly it all tastes exactly the
same as back home, too. If you want breakfast at a McDonald's
in Europe you have to head north, as in Germany and the
UK.
Pans & Company

When Subway left Sevilla some years ago Pans & Company
took over as the chain sandwich restaurant. Offering about
20 subs or bocadillos on some chewy bread they
have a few international sandwiches along with their take
on traditional Spanish bocadillos. Many locations
in the center and elsewhere make it a fast food alternative
with (in some cases) less grease.

Pizza and...pizza!! A few spanish
takes on the otherwise American chain menu. Domino's took over all of the Pizza Hut locations in Seville. I'm not sure what to think.

We were invited to the grand opening of Sevilla's
second Starbucks just before the Christmas holidays. The
second location is in Nervión Plaza on the ground
floor close to where the supermarket Mas y Mas is located.
This is a little smaller than the first location on Avda
Constitución near the Cathedral, but they are serving
up the same coffee and pastries. For those seeking a smoke-free
place to enjoy coffee they also have a non-smoking section.
The location by the Cathedral offer wireless internet access
(WiFi) but at a price. Locations which recently opened include
Puerta de Jerez, just across from Hotel Alfonso XIII and
the University of Seville, and the latest is La Campana,
in the U.S. effort to cover this area with our own creations
(ie: McDonald's, Burger King, Ben & Jerry's).

My main complaint is that there's no location in the center!
They offer pizza, burgers, fries, chicken wings and
salads: American style with a Spanish touch. They also offer
"sandwishes", which I believe is just a typo in
their ad. Any of the burgers are great except Viejo Sloppy Joe's. I'm not sure what's in this other than
hamburger, but it's a mushy mass of meat with some kind
of sauce and it just ain't a burger! The rest are good.
Choose from 20 some pizzas, Spanish and Mexican versions
included. Some pizzas are missing tomato sauce, or they
use little. But I don't know why I'm complaining because
the food is really good! Chef salad with blue cheese dressing
is pretty darn close to what you'd get back home. Home delivery
is quick - look for the guys on the motos with the Sloppy
Joe's box on the back!
Telepizza
:
Many, many locations.
: telepizza.es
About the only reason to eat Telepizza is if you want home
delivery. The pizza isn't that bad, but in comparison to
just about any other option it comes out below. They do
deliver just about anywhere and offer salads and other sandwiches
along with pizza. You'll see these guys zipping around town
on motos just about every night.
Il Forno
: c/ Trajano, 44 (Alameda).
:
If you want to do some international dining but don't know
exactly what you want then try Il Forno on calle Trajano.
They offer a number of Italian dishes as the name would
indicate, but they also offer plenty of recipes from other
countries with Mexican, Greek, and Eastern inspired platos and salads.
